The axiom I grew up with and still live by is this: Never ever trust a Marxist, Communist or Socialist.
The Chinese are much more adept than the Russians at adapting the precepts of Communism / Marxism to today’s economic reality. As Lenin predicted years before, they’ve had plenty of help from American capitalists specifically by moving manufacturing from the states to China. This is a move I assume that was considered brilliant in the halls of Fortune 1000 companies with many bonuses and pats on the back. The move did bolster E.P.S. and overall profitability – how could it not when slave labor is involved. These same brilliant executives ignored, or are just too young and thus ignorant of the dangers of Marxism and any of its variants.
This axiom is all the more true today. Beijing said just today that they are “all in” for Vladimir Putin’s Russia. No real surprise as they are communist comrades in arms. Let’s be clear. The mass media keeps associating Putin’s government as “Nazi” but they are just being the communists they’ve always been. The Russian government is at its core communist. It doesn’t have an issue with the death of innocent lives in the Ukraine or incarcerating their citizens who dare speak out against their rulers as are their Communist Chinese brothers who are committing genocide against the Uyghur people in Xinjiang. Neither country has ever had an issue with enslaving or killing people.
Christians believe that the human person has dignity because they were created in the image and likeness of God. Russia and China have no such God. Their god is that of power and money. They create wealth though the enslavement of people they see as tools or means to an end funded in large part by the avarice of unfettered capitalism cheered on Wall Street.
The popes thought the years have warned us about the evils of socialism and the inevitable slide to communism starting with Pope Leo XIII in the late 1800’s.
"To remedy these wrongs (the greed and power of the few over the man … injustice, still practiced by covetous and grasping men) the socialists, working on the poor man's envy of the rich, are striving to do away with private property, and contend that individual possessions should become the common property of all, to be administered by the State or by municipal bodies. They hold that by thus transferring property from private individuals to the community, the present mischievous state of things will be set to rights, inasmuch as each citizen will then get his fair share of whatever there is to enjoy. But their contentions are so clearly powerless to end the controversy that were they carried into effect the working man himself would be among the first to suffer. They are, moreover, emphatically unjust, for they would rob the lawful possessor, distort the functions of the State, and create utter confusion in the community."
Rerum Novarum #4 1891
One section of Socialism has undergone almost the same change that the capitalistic economic system, as We have explained above, has undergone. It has sunk into Communism. Communism teaches and seeks two objectives: Unrelenting class warfare and absolute extermination of private ownership. Not secretly or by hidden methods does it do this, but publicly, openly, and by employing every and all means, even the most violent. To achieve these objectives there is nothing which it does not dare, nothing for which it has respect or reverence; and when it has come to power, it is incredible and portent like in its cruelty and inhumanity. The horrible slaughter and destruction through which it has laid waste vast regions of eastern Europe and Asia are the evidence; how much an enemy and how openly hostile it is to Holy Church and to God Himself is, alas, too well proved by facts and fully known to all. Although We, therefore, deem it superfluous to warn upright and faithful children of the Church regarding the impious and iniquitous character of Communism, yet We cannot without deep sorrow contemplate the heedlessness of those who apparently make light of these impending dangers, and with sluggish inertia allow the widespread propagation of doctrine which seeks by violence and slaughter to destroy society altogether. All the more gravely to be condemned is the folly of those who neglect to remove or change the conditions that inflame the minds of peoples, and pave the way for the overthrow and destruction of society.

The Decree Against Communism was a 1949 Catholic Church document issued by the Supreme Sacred Congregation of the Holy Office, and approved by Pope Pius XII, which declared Catholics who professed Communist doctrine to be excommunicated as apostates from the Christian faith.
3. This all too imminent danger, Venerable Brethren, as you have already surmised, is bolshevistic and atheistic Communism, which aims at upsetting the social order and at undermining the very foundations of Christian civilization . 4. In the face of such a threat, the Catholic Church could not and does not remain silent. This Apostolic See, above all, has not refrained from raising its voice, for it knows that its proper and social mission is to defend truth, justice and all those eternal values which Communism ignores or attacks. Ever since the days when groups of "intellectuals" were formed in an arrogant attempt to free civilization from the bonds of morality and religion, Our Predecessors overtly and explicitly drew the attention of the world to the consequences of the dechristianization of human society.
With reference to Communism, Our Venerable Predecessor, Pius IX, of holy memory, as early as 1846 pronounced a solemn condemnation, which he confirmed in the words of the Syllabus directed against "that infamous doctrine of so-called Communism which is absolutely contrary to the natural law itself, and if once adopted would utterly destroy the rights, property and possessions of all men, and even society itself."[1]
Later on, another of Our predecessors, the immortal Leo XIII, in his Encyclical Quod Apostolici Muneris, defined Communism as "the fatal plague which insinuates itself into the very marrow of human society only to bring about its ruin."[2] With clear intuition he pointed out that the atheistic movements existing among the masses of the Machine Age had their origin in that school of philosophy which for centuries had sought to divorce science from the life of the Faith and of the Church.Divini Redemptoris #3-4 1937 - Pope Pius XI
Socialism considers the individual person simply as an element, a molecule within the social organism, so that the good of the individual is completely subordinated to the functioning of the socio-economic mechanism. .... A person who is deprived of something he can call “his own,” and of the possibility of earning a living through his own initiative, comes to depend on the social machine and on those who control it. This makes it much more difficult for him to recognize his dignity as a person, and hinders progress towards the building up of an authentic human community.
Centesimus Annus #13 1991 - Pope Saint John Paul II
In response to the above Catholics, Christians and all people of good will should reject communism. You still have power. Let your elected representatives – from the president of the United States to your local representative know your stance on communism – that it is the enemy of our freedom and is the enemy of the human person.

Other Things to Consider
Medicine: Our enemy also produces 97 percent of U.S. antibiotics and about 80 percent of active pharmaceutical ingredients used in American drugs, giving the Chinese Communist Party absolute control of potentially life-saving medicine. For example, Chinese pharmaceutical companies supply 70 percent of the world’s acetaminophen, commonly used in Tylenol. Does this make any sense to you?
The Chinese government’s theft of intellectual property has been an open secret for decades. More recently, U.S. authorities have discovered China is funding American university researchers, who don’t always disclose those contributions.
Technology: The manufacturing of smartphones and other household items is heavily reliant on China, which controls most of the rare earth minerals that make those items work. Additionally, China is seeking to build 5G networks in the United States and other Western countries, which could potentially feed personal information and sensitive data to the Chinese Communist Party.

Finally – The extent of Chinese investment in recent years has also raised red flags around U.S. national security, particularly in the realm of rare earth minerals. These are especially vital not only for high-technology products such as smartphones and electric vehicles but for U.S. frontline weapons including the F-35 fighter, which requires 920 pounds of rare earth minerals. “In 2017, the United States produced zero rare earth minerals. China, on the other hand, accounted for more than 80 percent of the world’s supply,” the report stated.
